      How do I setup my USB Flash Drive to record Tesla's Sentry Events and DashCam Videos?

      Format storage using the Tesla Dashboard

      We recommend formatting your USB flash drive or micro SDXC card adapter as exFAT. Formatting will erase all data, so be sure to move any important files off your drive before continuing. 

      1. Connect the USB flash drive to your Tesla's USB port.
      2. Tap the Car icon.

      3. Navigate to Safety & Security settings screen.

      4. Scroll down to and tap FORMAT USB DEVICE.
      5. Confirm by tapping FORMAT on the next screen.

      Once formatting is complete, the device can be left plugged in to start recording events. This will automatically create the TeslaCam folder which previously had to be added manually.
